Jessica Baer

Biography:

I love working with students! As an academic advisor in the College of Arts & Sciences I have had the opportunity to work with students from many walks of life. I learn something new with every student I get to know, and I hope that I reciprocate that feeling with the advisees I interact with daily. The college experience can be the best time of one’s life, but there are also obstacles to overcome. I am happy to work with all my advisees to create a plan to graduate and prepare for future careers, graduate and professional programs. Helping students discover and develop their goals and supporting students as they achieve their potential is extremely rewarding!

I grew up in Ohio and have my master’s degree from Ohio University in College Student Personnel. I have worked at UK since the summer of 2007. In my free time, I love playing with my dogs, going on road-trips and exploring Lexington.

An Outstanding Advisor

Jessica Baer takes time to carefully listen to the students that she advises. In return, her students took the time to nominate her for the Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor Award at UK, which she was honored with. That has been parlayed into also being awarded a 2011 National Outstanding Advising Award in the Primary Roll Category.
